BU TOKU DO NEWSLETTER January 2010

Philosophy

Don't have that conversation with yourself where you say, "He's got more talent than I do," or "She's faster than I am." Success depends on what's in your mind....Success is about your spirit.

Psychology Profiling
The newest word is profiling. If you are a martial artist you should be doing this all the time as this is self-defense. When you get on a bus or on a plane you should be looking at every single person automatically when they get on. Look for anything abnormal not just the color of their skin or their age or sex or what they are wearing and they are not all terrorists some of the bad guys out there are just normal nut cases. So always be profiling. It is our job in the new world we all live in after 9-11.

Setting Yearly Goals
Winners set goals Losers don’t. It is quite simple setting your goals is like creating a road map for yourself for the rest of the year or your life. It is not to late to do it for this year get busy and take 1 hour out and do it today.

Annual Dojo Registrations due
Yes it is time for the dojo’s to send in the annual dojo registrations for Butokudo. Please confirm with me that they have been sent in and send me a list of all those who you want to get the newsletter all I need is their email.

The amount is the same amount as you paid last year per club if you forget ask me and I will resolve it. Individuals with out a school pay $12 a year. Please send the cheque to Tosha Lord and make it out to her as well.

Also get them to follow me on Twitter as I make regular Tweets on motivation and things that are happening.

New Schools Opening
Yes as mentioned above we have an all new Don Warrener’s Martial arts opening in the east end of Hamilton in the Rosedale area on King Street at 1927 King Street East (near the Rosedale area). Also Jim Flood is going to re open a school on the Eats Mountain and we are there 100% to help him with this venture, as we are there 100% to help Don Mingle with his new school.

The Cat
Yes I have yet another book coming out called Gogen The Cat Yamaguchi “The Emperor of the Scarlet Fist”.
You can now order it on www.RisingSunProductions.net web site. It tells you all there is to know about The Cat of Goju. How he got the name over 240 rare photos his philosophy and so much more you will really be amazed. This took me over a year to write and produce. It is excellent if I do say so myself.

The Economical Worm is Turning
It looks like this nasty ol' recession is turning around slowly but surely so those of you in financial troubles just hang on and we will all get through this.

Chuck Merriman
Our dear friend and Goju Brother and my senior Chuck Merriman is having a fabulous event in Phoenix, Arizona on February 27 with free seminars by some of the absolute best in the world including the top dogs in Okinawan Goju direct from the Okinawan Jindokan. I will be there will you be there? It will be a wonderful learning experience weekend I assure you. Plus the banquet on Saturday will be excellent as well.

Good Idea
Here is a good idea for you to get people interested in Butokudo why not just print out this newsletter and put it up in the same place every month for your students to read it. Remember it is your responsibility to collect from them the $12 annual fee and out of this you send the annual registration to Tosha.

Fumio Demura
Sensei Fumio Demura a very good friend to Butokudo and all members is having a terrific International event in LA on the 21st of February I hope you can make it. He is one of the good guys and deserves our support.

Technical Tip
There are several important facets to sparring including physical conditioning, Speed Power, footwork hands feet and al, the rest but nothing is more important then courage and this is something you can only develop by stepping in to the ring and putting it on the line.

Thank you very much.
